Celebrate historic holiday

MONTAGUE N.J. The Montague Association for the Restoration of Community History will celebrate the season with its annual Old Fashioned Holiday Weekends. Don’t miss this wonderful Christmas tour through part of the Dutch Gambrel roofed historic 1790 Foster-Armstrong House located at 320 River Road - County Road 521 in Montague, N.J. The dates for this event are - weather-permitting: Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 29 and Nov. 30, and also Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6 and Dec. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m., each day. Revisit Brick House Village. Montague’s town center which disappeared years ago has now - like Brigadoon - re-appeared! Come and experience Martin Cole’s General Store, the Brick House Inn and its lovely parlor, Ben Peach’s Cobbler Shop, and Martin Crawn’s Blacksmith Shop. Also recalling the farming community, enjoy our special exhibit of farm tools from the late 1800’s and view some artifacts from the area. On Dec. 6, Santa will make an appearance and also on that day you can chat with some of the village “townspeople.” Stop in the gift shop - come browse and enjoy the warm and friendly atmosphere and treat yourself to a sweet. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed. For more information, call 973-293 3106 or visit www.montaguehistory.org.
