Celebrate the Delaware at Riverfest - Festival offers over 50 vendors, music and food
NARROWSBURG, N.Y. The 18th annual celebration of art, music, and ecology, Riverfest kicks off festival Sunday, July 27 at 10 a.m. on Main Street in Narrowsburg, N.Y. The festivities continue through 5 p.m., rain or shine. The event is presented by Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and sponsored by Catskill Regional Medical Center. Throughout the day, some 50 craft vendors will display their wares, from pottery and textiles to stained glass and furniture. Musical events include the acoustic rock duo Bill Carlton (vocals and guitar) and Tony Parlapiano (keyboards) of the Bill Carlton Band at 10:45 a.m. at the Mainstage. At 2 p.m. hear the sounds of bluegrass Americana group BioDiesel, featuring Al Troiani (guitar, mandolin), Kurt Knuth (guitar), and Roger Brinkerhoff (violin). The group will perform Mike Baglione’s “Delaware River Song.” Auctioneer Jerry Malek will open the poster auction of original works by local artists starting at 12 p.m. Visit www.ArtsAllianceSite.org to preview the posters available. Local businesses will be offering a variety of snack and lunch options, including sesame noodles, wraps, smoked sausage, and fruit and cookies. Other special events include the Catskill Regional Medical Center’s Healthmobile offering free check ups, and Art Peck’s 1955 mahogany inboard Chris Craft, a vintage six-passenger speedboat.
