Celebrate the end of summer at ambulance corps pig roast

DINGMANS FERRY — Enjoy one last night out before the summer ends with the Delaware Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps, which will hold its annual Pig Roast and Community Fun Day fundraiser from 3 to 10 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4, at the ambulance building, 135 Park Road, Dingmans Ferry.
Devour a serving of pork, a baked potato, corn-on-the-cob, baked beans, macaroni salad, a dinner roll, dessert and choice of drink for $15. Hot dogs, hamburgers, sno-cones, chips and other food will also be served. Beer, wine and select mixed drinks will be available for adults. Guests can eat in or take out.
There will be a bouncy house and other children’s activities, a cornhole, a mini tricky tray, and small games of chance including a 50/50 raffle. Vendors will also be on-hand selling various items including homemade crafts, jewelry, local honey, beauty supplies and wood products.
Musicians Charles Reynolds and Adam Zajac will perform live. DJ Productions of Milford will offer karaoke.
In addition, a coloring contest sponsored by Pike County Motors will be judged at 6 p.m. The coloring contest is free of charge and open to children ages 3 to 8.
Visitors can also enjoy a hike at the nearby and newly renovated Childs Park before or after eating. The calling for the tricky tray will begin at 6:45 p.m.
All proceeds will be used to purchase life-saving emergency medical equipment.
Sponsors of this year’s Pig Roast and Community Fun Day include Divine Occasions, Prime Time Meats, Sister’s Deli and Convenience Store, Delaware Valley Emergency Services, Lords Valley Towing, Have-A-Hoot, and Perona Farms.
