Chamber hosting business card exchange
Milford n The Muir House in Milford will be the place to be on May 24, when the Pike County Chamber of Commerce hosts its spring Business Card Exchange. With the warmer weather here to stay, the Spring Business Card Exchange will offer guests a chance to enjoy networking on the Muir House’s large porch, as well as in the air conditioned comfort of the restaurant, now under new management. “Our past card exchanges have attracted a lot of local business people and we are anticipating a great turnout at this one as well,” said Pike County Chamber’s Executive Director Amy Gruzesky. “Those who do attend will not only have a great time, but make plenty of helpful business contacts.” Everyone involved in business of any kind, member or not, is highly encouraged to attend. Opportunities such as the May 24 business card exchange are often seen as the perfect time for new or small business owners to make the connections that will launch them to the next level. These types of networking events are also known for helping established business people as well. Ultimately, professionals connect and have a bit of fun at the same time. The chamber has been sponsoring business card exchanges for the past several years. The winter mixer had over 75 members and nonmembers in attendance. Pike County, one of the fastest growing counties in the northeast, is home to a large variety of businesses and entrepreneurs, and the Chamber is hoping to attract owners and employees of both new and established businesses from the surrounding areas, as well as its own backyard. “The Pike County Chamber of Commerce membership is growing leaps and bounds and we are anticipating a large crowd at this event”, says chamber president Paul Brislin. The spring business card exchange will be held May 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Muir House located on State Route 2001. The cost is $5.00 per person and includes light refreshments and door prizes. There will be a cash bar available. Members and nonmembers are encouraged to bring promotional items for door prizes and to promote their businesses, and be sure to bring plenty of business cards!
