Dingmans Ferry — A taste of fall and the start of a community tradition will come together during the first Delaware Township Harvest Festival combined with a Chili Cookoff sponsored by Wilkins & Associates Real Estate Inc. Saturday, Oct. 27. The event will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Camp Akenac on state Route 739. Set up for the chili and craft booths is from 8 to 10 a.m. and chili tasting will continue until 3 p.m. “We were looking for something unique to help bring the community together,” said Wilkins’ VP Sales Manager Christine Scrofano. “We’ve had a great response.” Dingman Township has just acquired the park, said Lynn Wilklow, manager of Wilkins’ Bushkill office. Wilkins employees were planning a chili contest when township officials asked them to considering sponsoring it as part of the new festival.
