— The Delaware Valley Choral Society will perform “Christmas with Rutter and Friends," the nativity story recounted in carols written by composer John Rutter, renowned for his gift of melody and verse.

The concert will also pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” with a medley of songs from the famous TV special. The chorus will also take the audience on a “Musicological Journey Through the Twelve Days of Christmas,” beginning with the Renaissance and continuing through 20th century America.

Guest artists are Patty Turse on orchestral harp, Craig Williams on organ, and the Dingman Delaware Children’s Choir, directed by Brian Krauss.

The choral society is a non-profit group dedicated to performing major choral works in their original form. The society incorporates aspiring musicians from the area as well as professional musicians to bring major works of music to our community. Anyone interested in joining should call 570-296-5333 for information.

"We welcome all who love to sing and are looking to increase our musical forces to perform a major concert with full symphony orchestra next spring!" the choral society says.
