Come meet the Nittany Lion

    MILFORD — The Pike County Cooperative Extension Office will host a Family Fun Day and Open House on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its Milford location, 514 Broad Street. The Nittany Lion will greet guests on this day. The event coincides with the extension’s 85th Anniversary of service to Pike County and the public is invited to drop by and spend time taking part in these activities and demonstrations: Seeing Eye Puppy demonstration; Smoke-free town interactive exhibit; Story hour - with free book to first 60 pre-school children, one per family; Information on safe drinking water, energy efficiency, financial issues, food preservation, deer resistant plants and much, much more. At 11 a.m. there will also be a chance to have a hands-on try using a GPS unit. Door prizes will be given away throughout the day. For 85 years Penn State Cooperative Extension in Pike County has provided timely research-based information on important current and emerging issues pertaining to agriculture and natural resources; children, youth and families; and economic and community development.
