Conservancy hosts forum on proposed ethanol plant
HAWLEY The Lackawaxen River Conservancy is hosting a public information meeting on the proposed ethanol plant at Indian Orchard along the Lackawaxen River. The meeting will be on Tuesday, May 20, at 7 p.m. in the PPL Environmental Center, US Route 6, in Hawley. Mr. Dave Williams will be the guest speaker. Williams, a member of the Governor’s Renewable Energy Board and Director of the Wayne-Pike Farm Bureau, will discuss plans for a proposed Indian Orchard Renewable Energy. LLC on a 90-acre site in Texas Township. When completed, the plant is expected to produce 60 million gallons of ethanol annually. Following his presentation there will be a Q and A time to allow attendees to become informed about the implications of this proposed enterprise. The public is strongy encouraged to attend this important event.
