Delaware Ambulance Corps plans chicken barbecue Live music, hay bale throw, vendors, and tricky tray included in the festivities

DINGMANS FERRY — The Delaware Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps is holding its annual chicken barbecue from 2 to 10 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, at the ambulance building, 135 Park Rd., Dingmans Ferry.
Enjoy a half-chicken, vegetables, scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, cranberry sauce, dinner roll, desert and choice of drink for $15. Advance sale tickets are available for $12, to eat in or take out. Hot dogs, hamburgers and other food will also be served. Beer, wine and select mixed drinks will be available for adults.
There will be bouncy house for the kids, tricky tray and other small games of chance including a 50/50 raffle. Vendors will be on-hand selling various items including crafts, jewelry, and wood products. Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Center will conduct a presentation with species native to Pennsylvania including raptors, mammals and reptiles from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. In addition, there will be live music all day with performances by Ray Costanzo, Charles Reynolds, 3’s a Crowd, and Runnin w’ Sizzorz.
Enjoy a hike at the nearby and newly renovated Childs Park before or after your eat. The calling for the tricky tray will begin at 6:30 p.m.
For the second year the corps will hold its hay bale throwing contest, in which both men and women will toss a bale of hay to see who can throw it the furthest. The contest will start at 4:15 p.m. Registration fee is $3. First, second and third place winners will receive prizes and bragging rights.

The barbecue is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for Delaware Township Volunteer Ambulance. All proceeds will be used to purchase emergency medical equipment and help benefit the Celeste Egidio Memorial Scholarship Fund.
