MILFORD — The Secret Garden Tour presented by the Milford Garden Club will be held on Saturday. July 19 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. There will be seven gardens offered for the public’s viewing plus the park at Remembrance Place in Milford. The gardens include a mixture of garden types and ideas including a woodland inspired garden, decorative gardens, and a garden that combine edibles and ornamentals. This year’s featured gardens are all located in Milford with six in walking distance of one another and one just a short distance from town. The Secret Garden Tour is the major fund raising event of the Garden Club. Income from the event will be used to fund the organization’s beautification efforts along the streets of and entrances to Milford. Two town parks are also planted and maintained by the club. The parks are the only spaces usually available for the public to walk through and enjoy. Co-chairs of the event, Karen Cowern, Theresa Johnson and Kathy Vannatta have secured private gardens for the tour that are both attractive and inspiring. Refreshments will be available throughout the day at Remembrance Place Park. Pre-event tickets may be purchased for $12 at Hare Hollow, 322 Broad Street in Milford. Tickets may be purchased for $15 on the day of the tour at Remembrance Place Park, at corner of West Ann Street and Elderberry Alley and alongside the library on Broad Street, near the corner of Harford and Broad Streets. Tickets will be sold between the hours of 10 and 3 on the day of the event. The Secret Garden Tour is a rain or shine event.
