Festival of foods and wine at Shawnee

Alisa Tongg Weiler, of the Weiler Family Foundation, is the founder of the forthcoming Delaware River Food and Wine Festival. She is seen here with Carl G. Wilgus, president/CEO of the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau. Along with partners Local Flair Magazine, and the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort, the visitors bureau is planning a four-day festival to be held at the Shawnee Inn, Sept. 18-21. The main event, the Foodie Fare along the Delaware on Sat, Sept. 20, will feature a 35-course tasting menu accompanied by suggested wine and micro brew pairings. Other events include a pheasant-hunt on a private island, a mushroom foraging hike and a scenic epicurean bike tour through the farms of Cherry Valley. Tickets are extremely limited for this boutique Festival. The Weiler Family Foundation is donating net profits to Monroe County Meals on Wheels.
