Friends of the PCPL will hold their 4th quarterly meeting for 2022 on Monday, October 17. This is our final public meeting for the year 2022. All are welcome to attend and hear the latest Library plans.

The Friends organization is now in its forty- second year. Their goal is to support the library with volunteerism and donations. This year, they held several book sales, and bus trips have resumed. Their Fall Newsletter is now available in both library branches. Their three fall bus trips are described in detail in the newsletter.

The Friends book store is located inside the entrance of the Milford branch, staffed entirely by volunteers. This is now the only bookstore in Milford, open whenever the library is open. Books are all donated and nearly new. Stop by and browse their books, CD’s, audio books, DVD’s and books for kids of all ages. Book store gift certificates are also available. If you would like to volunteer at the book store, call Kim Kane at 845-313-6868.

The Friends organization is happy to accept new members. Application forms for membership can be obtained on line, (PCPL.org), or by visiting one of our library branches. Provide the Friends with both summer and winter addresses, if applicable. Potential members should provide current e-mail addresses and indicate a preference for receiving their newsletters by postal or e-mail.

Thanks to a recent grant, construction will begin in January to complete the lower level of the Milford library branch. Beginning on Oct. 22nd, during the construction period, the Library will no longer accept donated books , due to lack of storage space.
