Glass beads,carved glass, prints and more

MILFORD - Carolyn Baum, Elisa Ferracane and Lisa Zukowski are the featured artists in a new show at the Artery Gallery on Broad Street. The exhibit runs through Nov. 20. Carolyn Baum, a prominent flameworker and glass artist, will be showing jewelry made by heating glass over a torch, and wrapping the molten glass on a steel mandrel in multiple layers to make miniature works of art. Before working with glass Carolyn taught art in Gardiner, New York, She currently has a glass studio at the foot of the Shawangunk Mountains. Carolyn’s work was recently featured in two articles in Lapidary Journal. March and June issues. Elisa Ferracane, a noted artist and designer, will also be displaying works in glass. She will display works in multicolored, hand-formed vases with etched figures and designs. Her work is highly prized by collectors and is in the collections of notables such as former President And Mrs. George H. Bush, John F. Kennedy, Jr. and Geraldine Ferraro. Lisa Zukowski will be showing acrylic paintings, prints and mixed media sculpture. In her work she brings together the physical and the experiential, expressing them in symbolic and abstract imagery. Lisa received her degree in painting and printmaking from Brooklyn College where she served as printer for the Brooklyn College Press Women’s Portfolio and the Creation Portfolio. Lisa is a two-time recipient of the Bernard Shaw Memorial Award for Painting as well as many awards from local arts organizations.
