“Dent,” an exhibition of work by artist Jeff George, will run May 8 to June 14 at the Wayne County Arts Alliance (WCAA) Gallery.
There will also be an artist’s reception on Friday, May 9, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“Dent” offers a comprehensive view of multimedia artist Jeff George’s work. The exhibit includes paintings, prints and sculpture in a celebration of flora, fauna, letter forms and graphic storytelling.
“Most of my paintings and sculptures are whimsical and humorous, taking common or familiar items and arranging them into new works that challenge most conventional thinking and ideas,” said George. “I like creating works that people aren’t expecting to see in a gallery setting. Something that makes them stop, think for a minute, then maybe crack a little smile.”
A Honesdale, Pa., resident, George has designed and painted various large-scale, site-specific murals in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Jeff George Design and Salvage, George’s design company, connects the Wayne County business and arts communities.
The WCAA Gallery is located at 959 Main Street, Honesdale, Pa. It is open Thursdays through Sundays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
