Ice carving at Cliff Park for festival
Milford On Sunday, Jan. 25, Cliff Park Inn’s new corporate executive chef, Graham Kidd Watson, armed with his chainsaw and rotary tools, will create a ice masterpiece, demonstrating his finely honed skills as an ice carver. Stop by, visit, and enjoy lunch at Cliff Park Inn. Last Sunday, Sussex County Community College’s award-winning chef Chad Gasiorek created an ice carving from a 300lb block of ice. Chef Chad’s ice sculpture will be back-lit and on display at Cliff Park Inn throughout the winter months. Over the years Chef Chad has completed several other ice carvings for Sussex County Community College including one with the logo of the college. Chef Gasiorek is currently a baking instructor at the Sussex County Technical School and is a member of Sussex County Community College’s Hospitality Advisory Board. Ice sculpture is initially roughly carved with a chainsaw, and then a series of smaller rotary instruments which allow for smaller details in the sculpturing process. When completed, The ice carving event is Cliff Park’s contribution to the up-coming “Winter Festival of Lights” which will commence on Jan. 24.
