Join the winter EagleWatch

    Lackawaxen — On Sunday, Jan. 18, the Eagle Institute is sponsoring the Northeast PA Winter Eaglewatch. The day’s activities are from 1-4 p.m.; and they’re free. Features include: “Close Encounters with Birds of Prey,” an up-close look at live birds of prey, including a bald eagle, at 2 pm, at the Lackawaxen Firehouse. Throughout the day ongoing activities will include: vendors with unique eagle-related items, guided eagle habitat excursions (for a nominal donation), children’s craft activities, open house at the Eagle Institute Winter Field Office, visits to the Zane Grey Museum (National Park Service), and eagle watching on the river. Refreshments available, provided by the Lackawaxen Fird Department Ladies Auxiliary.
