Late blight in Pike County

MILFORD Penn State Plant Disease Clinic has confirmed late blight on tomato and potato specimens in Pike County. A Dingmans Ferry gardener brought in the specimens the week of July 12. According to the coordinator of the clinic, Sara R. May, “There is no control for this disease once plants are infected. Destroy infected plants to prevent the spread of this serious pathogen.” If you suspect late blight on your plants, please bring a leaf and stem specimen to the Pike County Cooperative Extension office.
