Laurel Villa offers LobsterFest'
Event under the stars MILFORD The Laurel Villa Country Inn & Restaurant in Milford will inaugurate its new “mostly seafood” menu with an old-fashioned “LobsterFest” celebration on Friday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. “After our recent Blue Crab Bake everyone was asking about lobster,” said Janice Halsted, innkeeper at the Laurel Villa. “So here it is. Join us outdoors under the stars for fresh seafood cooked to perfection.” The “LobsterFest” event will feature an appetizer of steamed mussels and clams followed by salad and fresh-baked bread, local corn on the cob, baked potato, and a one and a quarter to one and a half pound lobster. Ice-cold beer on tap will be available all evening as part of the cash bar. “Our new menu also features $1 oysters on the half shell and steamers, as well as fresh soft shell crabs,” said Halsted. “We have a huge selection of great seafood for every taste.” The next event in the Laurel Villa’s continuing summer series will be a “Martini Madness” tasting on Friday, Aug. 21. Seating at $35 for the “LobsterFest” event is limited, and reservations are required by Tuesday, Aug. 4. The Laurel Villa serves dinner from 5 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, and features a lighter “Pub Menu” at the bar in addition to its full dinner menu.
