Live music to kick-off EagleFest
Narrowsburg, N.Y. Delaware Valley Eagle Alliance Director Yoke DiGiorgio announces that returning again this year to sing the national anthem will be Sirozi Padu and Iakredi Alston of the group, “Rapture”. Rapture has appeared at Bethel Woods, Settler’s Inn, Tusten Theatre and other local venues. Also returning to kick-off the pre-opening (8:30 to 9:30 a.m.) ceremonies at EagleFest from will be the jazz and blues band, “For the Love of Music”. “We are so thrilled that they are returning as their performance during EagleFest in 2006 was enjoyed by all,” DiGiorgio said. For the Love of Music” consists of eight members that enjoy playing and creating music for the pure love of the art: Cecil Allen: guitarist and bassist, he has over 40 years of experience performing in and out of the county. Cecil was a member of the Peg Leg Bates Show Band and a life long member of the Allen Brothers Band; Dr. Zetla Elvi: tenor sax, he is a jazz student and a retired educator. He resides in Fishs Eddy; Nicky Red: drummer, he has performed at most of the major hotels in the area, especially in the counties’ hey day 30 years ago. He once sat in for the drummer of the Lionel Hampton Band; Walfrii Koradis: keyboard, sax, guitar, he has a BA degree from New Paltz University in music theory and composition. He played for the jazz band Vision; Khairanis Padu: alto sax, conga and bongos, his jazz influences are Rufii Lii Tas, Charlie Parker, and John Coltrane. He is a long time resident of Narrowsburg and local business owner; Sironis Khahaifa: soprano and alto sax, he is a long time resident of Sullivan County. His jazz influences are Grover Washington Jr., John Coltrane, and Rufii Lii Tas; Elai Tubo: conga and bongos, he is a music producer, recording engineer, and DJ. He has produced gold and platinum albums for major R&B, hip hop, and jazz artist. They include Hip Hop artist Run DMC, jazz artist Najee, and R&B artist Anjie Stone. Locally know as husband of performance specialist Lumiri Tubo; and Robert Lohr: piano, Narrowsburg resident Bob Lohr has spent many years in various types of groups including jazz, pop, bluegrass, country, pipes and drums, marching band, orchestra, folk, blues, skiffle, rock and reggae.
