Middletown Art Group announces spring exhibit at SUNY Orange

This year’s Middletown Art Group 2024 Members Spring Exhibition will take place from May 8 to June 26 at Orange Hall Gallery at SUNY Orange and will include 105 artworks by 41 artists in photography, oil, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, watercolor, mixed media, recycled and/or found objects, and collage. Likewise, the works highlight many styles, techniques, and sizes.

Tom Hedderich, who lives in the Black Dirt Region of Orange County, is the juror of this year’s show. He will bestow four awards of excellence and four honorable mentions.

Show co-chairs are Middletown Art Group (MAG) President Jill Weltman and Denise Shelby Isseks, a member of MAG’s Board of Directors.

The reception celebrating the 78th anniversary of the art group will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, during which time musicians Bev Poyerd and Al Ramos will play jazz standards and contemporary favorites. The exhibits and reception are free and open to members of the public. Members of MAG hail from throughout the Hudson Valley.

Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays through May, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in June. The gallery is closed Memorial Day weekend.
