BUSHKILL — “Millbrook Days,” a 19th-century folklife festival, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, and Sunday, Oct. 7, at Millbrook Village, N.J., in Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The event will begin at 10 a.m. each day and conclude at 4:30 p.m. Millbrook Days is one of the greatest examples of volunteers working with the National Park Service to bring both education and recreation to the public,” said Superintendent John J. Donahue. “The Millbrook Village Society and many other dedicated groups will bring the village to life for those two days. Don’t miss this celebration of American rural life.” Dozens of folk crafts will be demonstrated, and exhibits from bygone days will be displayed by costumed volunteers and park staff. The festival also features old-time children’s games and traditional, live string-band music. Food will be available for purchase. Admission is free; but donations are appreciated. Parking and shuttle service are free. The festival will be held rain or shine. Millbrook Village is 12 miles north of Interstate Highway 80 on Old Mine Road (Exit 1) in New Jersey. For further information, call either of the park’s two visitor centers on weekends at 908-496-4458 or 570-828-2253, or park headquarters on weekdays at 570-588-2452.
