Native colors, brighter winter

Last weekend, the Blue Sky Red Earth gallery in Milford was a showcase for the fine art works of Lakota metal workers Mitchell Zephier, above left, and Roger Herron, right. Zephier and Herron’s art, above and right, collected and exhibited all over the world, resides in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution and numerous other museums. While the artists moved on, gallery owner Stella Evans, below left, said she keeps samples of the two South Dakota men’s work in stock along with a wide variety of Native American crafts, art, music and literature. Blue Sky Red Earth, at 401 West Harford Street, is open Thursday through Monday from noon to 6 p.m. For more, call 570-409-1826. (Photos by David Hulse)
