New Show for River Valley Artists

MILFORD — The River Valley Artist's Guild, a 14-year-old group of artists who hail from the tri-state communities bordering the Delaware River, as well as Middletown and Monticello, will exhibit their works from May 11 to June 5 at the ARTery Gallery in Milford. Members of the Port Jervis-based group will debut the May show with an Art After Dark Reception on Saturday, May 13, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The founding members — Bernie Kilbourn, Matilda Grech, Paul Horsman, Lois Simpson and a few others — put their multiple years of experience together to get the group off the ground. Their vision was to create a broad-spectrum arts organization, which they dubbed a "guild" in order to include artisan craftsmen.
The Guild's current president is Cuddebackville-based Joan Kehlenbeck, and members come from neighboring areas in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The ARTery Galley is located at 210 Broad Street in Milford, 570-409-1234, or www.arterygallerymilford.com, and the River Valley Artist's Guild is at 4 Fowler Street in Port Jervis.
