Oliver's paintings at Alliance Gallery

NARROWSBURG, N.Y. — An exhibition of paintings by Bobbie Oliver opens at the Alliance Gallery in Narrowsburg on Friday, Sept. 28, with an artist’s reception from 7 - 9 p.m. The exhibit will be on view through Oct. 19. Oliver’s abstract paintings are populated by mysterious vapor-like fluid forms, which are made by staining and blotting layers of paint to create images of aqueous fields. For over 20 years, Oliver has been a professor of painting at the Rhode Island School of Design where she also currently serves as Chair of the Painting Department. She has had over 20 solo exhibitions and over 40 group exhibitions in New York, London, Toronto, Belgium, New Delhi, and Rhode Island. This exhibit, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, the Arts Council for Sullivan County, NY. Alliance Gallery is located at the Delaware Arts Center at 37 Main Street, Narrowsburg, N.Y.
