Operetta holiday concert coming to the Milford Theatre

MILFORD — Coming to the Milford Theatre is a program of light operas and musicals along with traditional holidays songs.
Soprano Jessica Fishenfeld and tenor Scott Joiner, accompanied by pianist Eric Sedgwick, will perform at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16. They'll be singing songs by composers Rogers and Hammerstein, Franz Lehar, Johann Strauss, Leonard Bernstein, and Giacomo Puccini.
Fishenfeld, an award-winning graduate of NYU Steinhardt, has impressed audiences with her principle roles in traditional operas. The long list includes La Traviata, Carmen, Don Pasquale, and La Boheme, along with contemporary works. She has also sung in concert performances and performed in light operas such as The Pirates of Penzance.
The San Francisco Examiner recently raved about Joiner's "bright, arching tenor." The young singer has already sung key roles with the San Francisco Opera, the St. Petersburg Opera, Asheville Lyric Opera, the American Symphony Orchestra, and other top opera companies and orchestras. Like Fishenfeld, Joiner has performed concert recitals as well as traditional and contemporary operas.
Tickets for adults are $20, or $15 when purchased in advance. Children under 15 will be admitted free.
The Milford Theatre is located at 114 E. Catharine St. in Milford.
