WESTFALL - Do you remember what it was like to be young, promising never to grow up? If you’ve forgotten, you’re not alone. Childhood fantasies of pirates, Indians, and lost boys find themselves, all too often, tucked away under laptops and portfolios. If you are willing to push adulthood aside, even for a single evening, the DVMS Drama students invite you to fly away with them to Neverland as they present the all time favorite musical, “Peter Pan.” “We’ve been to Oz, saved the Von Trapps, found a princess, and adopted America’s favorite orphan. What else is there to do? We may as well fly the cast!” jokes director Jim Fazzino. With a little help from Tinkerbell (and the professionals at Flying by Foy), characters will defy the rules of gravity and make their way to Neverland. “We can’t give away all of our surprises,” says Fazzino, “but I’m fairly certain some of this stuff has never been done on this stage.” Under the guidance of Mollie Jones, assistant & musical director; Melissa Fazzino, choreographer; Catherine Webster, stage manager; George Gelderman, technical director, and Trish Balch, set designer, this production promises to leave audiences shouting, “I won’t grow up!” Show times for Peter Pan are Friday, Dec. 1 and Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. Priced at $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for students, tickets may be reserved by calling 570-296-1830 (ext. 7395). Tickets will also be available at the door.
