MILFORD — The Pike county Fair is on. For the first time in 20 years the fair will be held at the Mount Haven Resort on Log Tavern Road. With all of its excitement, displays, ongoing entertainment and amusement rides, the fair will take place from Sept. 10 - 14 at the resort. At a recent meeting with (the owners of the Mount Haven) the Filone Family, the excitement of the event became a reality with a the promise for a “real country fair.” There will be cow milking, agricultural exhibits, contests for all members of the community, music acts, clowns, magic shows, rides for young and old, and all for the price of admission. Non-profit organizations will be welcomed to use the event as a fundraiser and local businesses may use the spaces as a business promotion. During the announcement of the event, Bitsey Kopfinger, chairwoman of the fair committee, said that consideration was given to changing the date and recent location, due to the fact that schools are in session and commuters do not arrive home at an early time. Several of the times of events have been changed to accommodate fair-goers. The ever-popular “Little Miss Pike County” and “Little Mr. Pike County” for children ages three to seven, will be held on Saturday afternoon while the Miss Pike County contest is scheduled for the opening evening. Added this year is the new “Mr. Pike County” contest, which is open to young men, ages 16 to 20. For more information on the fair, or to rent booth space, write P.O.
