MILFORD - Survivors’ Resources, Inc. of Pike County in collaboration with the American Readers Theatre will present a reading of “Young Married At Play” at the Columns Museum, 608 Broad Street, Milford, on March 10 at 7 p.m. Written by Jerome Kass, with adaptation and direction by Jeffrey Stocker, the story centers around two couples who get together for a social evening of dinner, drinks, and a game of Monopoly. As the evening progresses, the antagonisms, near-hatred, and physical violence of the couples surge forward, eventually reaching an armed truce but with a troubled and uncertain future. A review of the reading by The New York Times called it “… a great new play with bite and humor … well worth watching.” The cast of readers includes four talented young actors from New York City. The American Readers Theatre is a not-for-profit performing arts organization which promotes literacy through the art of dramatic readings. Survivors’ Resources Inc., a not-for-profit organization is dedicated to restoring dignity to individuals dealing with issues of domestic violence and sexual abuse through crisis intervention, supportive counseling, prevention/education, and community outreach. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased by calling Survivors’ Resources at 570-296-2827. The office is open from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
