Riverfest celebrates talent inspired by nature

NARROWSBURG, N.Y. — Artists inspired by the wild beauty of the Upper Delaware will be auctioning off the luscious posters that have long defined the annual Riverfest.
Narrowsburg’s annual music, art, and environmental festival has been celebrating the area's diverse artistic talents for 26 years. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 24.
The centerpiece of the day is the 12:30 p.m. poster auction. More than five dozen original posters created by local artists are sold in a live (and lively) auction to the highest bidder. Last year’s event brought in a record $15,750, with the funds directly benefiting the Gallery Program at the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.
The posters are made using every imaginable artistic medium, including painting, photography, and sculpture. As a tribute to local artists who have recently died, Phyllis Bilick and Vera B. Williams, their families will provide posters featuring their work. The posters are on display in the gallery windows of the Delaware Arts Center at 37 Main St. in Narrowsburg, and can also be previewed online at delawarevalleyartsalliance.org.
Riverfest is sponsored by Catskill Regional Medical Center, along with media partner WSUL/WVOS-FM. Admission is free. For more information call 845-252-7576.
