Ross and Palmer at the Artery
MILFORD The Artery Gallery’s September show features the watercolor paintings of Joan Ross and the pen and ink drawings of Jim Palmer. The exhibition will be on display through Oct. 8. Joan Ross, a veteran member of the gallery and a well-known watercolorist from Vernon, N.J., will be showing recent works. Ross has won many awards for her paintings, the most recent being the John Loughlin A.W.S. Award presented at the Hudson Valley Art Association’s 76th annual exhibition. She is listed in “Who’s Who in American Art” and is a past president of the N.J. Watercolor Society. Jim Palmer is a new member of the gallery. He primarily a self-taught artist, who has exhibited his work in numerous venues throughout N.Y., N.J. and Pa. Working with ballpoint and Rapidograph pens, he ahs been developing his unique style of expression for the past 37 years. His work reflects his deep interest in matters of the spirit and his love of the natural world. For the past eight years he has also been working as a tattooist and is opening a tattoo and art studio in Milford, to be called Moon Gravel Arts. The artery is located in the Forest Hall Building at Broad and Harford streets in Milford.
