Ross, Ray and Day the Artery Gallery

MILFORD The Artery, a fine art and craft gallery, will open a new exhibition featuring award winning watercolorist Joan M. Ross, photographer Anita Ray and ceramist C.S. Day. The public is invited to the opening reception on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 4 to 7 pm, coinciding with Milford’s Art After Dark. Joan M. Ross has exhibited nationally including at the National Academy, The Salmagundi Club, The Trotter Museum, Monmouth Museum, Waterloo Village and The Barn Galleries. Anita Ray, known for her undersea photography, in recent years has turned to the Delaware River Valley for inspiration. Her photography contributes to the recording of the turbulent history and natural wonders of this local paradise. She has expanded her view to aerial photography as well. C.S. Day has been conversing with clay since 1981 but only recently decided her passion was also to be her career. Day claims that years of making mud pies was not coincidental and laid the groundwork for her ceramic studies, culminating in establishing her own studio in 2001. Now, with this exhibit, she celebrates her second year with the gallery and introduces a new “body” of sculptural work. Her exhibit will include mixed media sculpture along with her functional pottery. The exhibit runs from Nov. 6 through Dec. 8 at the spacious gallery located in Forest Hall, at the corner of Broad and Harford streets in Milford. The Artery is open Thursday - Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday 12 to 5 p.m. For more, call 570-409-1234 or visit www.arteryonline.com.
