Salon Musicale' is opera company fundraiser

Narrowsburg, N.Y. The Delaware Valley Opera will present a “Salon Musicale” on Sunday, June 7 at 3 p.m. in the Krause Recital Hall of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, 37 Main St., 2nd floor in Narrowsburg. The intimate afternoon of elegant music and refreshments will feature a roster of local professional opera singers, including: soprano Eileen Macintosh of Middletown, N.Y., bass Eric Barsness and pianist Joe Hannan of Jeffersonville, N.Y., flutist Dan Desmond of Callicoon Center, N.Y., soprano Jeanne-Marie Lowell of Highland Mills, N.Y., tenor Adam Blackman of Matamoras and DVO Artistic Director Jim Blanton of Port Jervis, N.Y. Favorite numbers from Opera and Broadway will be performed, including selections from the upcoming DVO summer productions of “La Boheme” and “The Merry Widow.” The audience will also be invited to sing along on familiar choruses from “The Merry Widow.” Tickets are available at the door at $20. Guests will also be invited to help underwrite parts of the upcoming DVO season by “adopting” a soprano, instrumentalist, music score or other production components.
