PORT JERVIS, N.Y. — Gillinder Glass Factory in Port Jervis New York, named one of the top ten places to visit in the Hudson Valley, is offering special glass factory tours on Saturday, March 29 and May 10. Experience the process of glass making and see molten glass being transformed into decorative glass using the same techniques of more than a century ago. These special glass factory tours, offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will feature several glass blowers including guest artist, Al Hough, Bill Happel, Jeff Travers, Brian Rospond and Charlie Gillinder. Gillinder Brothers has been making glass since 1861, and still manufactures glass products in the historic building, that it has occupied since 1912. Along with industrial glass, Gillinder has a long history of manufacturing classic glass collectibles. The Gillinder Glass gift shop is bursting at the seams with hundreds of new and unique glass and ceramic items. Along with its own line of classic glass collectibles, the Gillinder Glass Store features the works of over 80 other artists worldwide.
