Spring bird walk is Sunday
Milford The annual springtime migration of warblers, vireos, thrushes, tanagers and other songbirds from their wintering grounds in Central and South America to their summer nesting grounds in North America is a spectacular display of color and song that treat birdwatchers and nature lovers alike. For the beginner naturalist, the constant motion and variety of songs of these songbirds can be confusing. The Gifford Pinchot Audubon Society will be having a spring bird walk on Sunday, May 18 at 7 a.m. at the Zimmerman property in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Peter Wulfhorst, former Gifford Pinchot president and seasoned birdwatcher, will be leading the field trip. Meet at the Zimmerman property and bird from 7 10 am. The Zimmerman property is located between mile marker 15 & 16 on Route 209. RSVP requested at 570-296-2244 between 7 & 8 p.m.
