Spring concert at St. Peter's
PORT JERVIS, N.Y. St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, at 31 West Main Street, in Port Jervis invites the Tri-State community to a spring concert on Saturday, May 3, at 7 p.m. The concert will feature vocal music accompanied by keyboard, guitar and drums of St. Peter’s, a world music drumming ensemble comprised of youth from the church. Kathy Brink, Minister of Music at St. Peter’s for the past thirteen years, has organized the concert. She will be joined by Eric Pape, a guitarist, composer and singer from Long Island, N.Y., with whom she has worked in the past as a member of the Voices of Peace duo. He serves Ascension Lutheran Church, Deer Park and Christ Lutheran Church, Hyde Park as worship leader for their contemporary services and has freelanced at various church and civic events over the history of his career. The concert will include an assortment of sacred songs including spirituals, traditional and contemporary Christian with various instrumentation including keyboard, recorders, autoharp, guitar and Orff instruments. A free will offering will be taken. Proceeds from the concert will go towards St. Peter’s choir camp fund, which annually sends as many as 10 youth choir members to the Royal School of Church Music in America’s summer music course located at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Wilkes-Barre.
