Spring jazz concert coming to Delaware Valley
WESTFALL - The Delaware Valley Music Department will present the annual Spring Jazz Concert on the evening of Wednesday, May 24. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Delaware Valley High School Auditorium, at the Milford campus. In addition to displaying the talents of the high school band students, this year’s concert will feature professional guitar player Spencer Reed as special guest artist. Mr. Reed has been performing continually since 1972. Born and raised in New York City, he grew up riding the subway to play anywhere he could. Mr. Reed has toured with the USO throughout the Caribbean and Panama. After freelancing in New York, he settled in the Poconos where he resides and works with his wife, singer and bassist Nancy Reed. The two perform throughout the area and often at the Delaware Water Gap; Deer Head Inn, a jazz landmark. Mr. Reed has accompanied many popular singers such as Billy Ekstine, the Fifth Dimension, Robert Goulet, Sergio Franchi, Frankie Laine, Bobby Rydell and many others that travel through the Pocono Mountain area. Admission is free. Please come out and enjoy a spectacular night of jazz music. For more information, contact Mr. Lance Rauh at 570-296-1800, extension 7161.
