The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) will host an evening of fabulous fun and entertainment of “Starling Cabaret,” a one-night-only benefit performance for the DVAA.

On May 19 at 7 p.m., the Starling at Pond Eddy, located at at 1954 Rt. 97 in Pond Eddy, N.Y., will transform into a dazzling speakeasy where society swells and classy dames gather to hear some of NYC’s finest improvisers.

A totally improvised cabaret, it is inspired by audience suggestions as the performers create a spontaneous evening of music, comedy, and a ton of laughs.

Emcee Greg Triggs will introduce star performers Deb Rabbai, Daniel Tepper and Katie Hammond accompanied by Gary Adler on piano.

In addition to supporting DVAA by purchasing tickets to this one-of-a-kind performance, guests will be able to bid on gift certificates to some of the best restaurants in the area and passes to local events such as Forestburgh Playhouse, DVAA’s Big Eddy Film Festival, and more.

The Starling at Pond Eddy is an historic river house overlooking the Delaware River, 10 minutes from Barryville. Built in 1883, The Starling is reported to be one of the last known buildings to have been constructed along the Historic Delaware and Hudson Canal. The Cabaret will take place on the ground floor, originally a general store, with much of the original character intact — perfect for a vintage-themed speakeasy event.

Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased online at delawarevalleyartsalliance.org or by calling 845-252-7576.

Since 1976, the DVAA has served as a cultural home, providing artists with platforms to share their voices with audiences in our galleries, on our stages, and at our festivals. Additionally, DVAA funds local creatives and cultural organizations through our role as the Arts Council of Sullivan County.

In 2023, DVAA will present over a dozen exhibitions featuring new and emerging visual artists from around the region as well as new works from accomplished mid-career artists.
