Students' art recognized for park anniversary

Westfall In celebration of Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River’s 30th anniversary, the National Park Service invited 9th through 12th grade students in the Upper Delaware Region to participate in an art contest. The contest allowed students to submit original artwork that interprets and depicts the rich natural resources and cultural history of the Upper Delaware River Valley. Entries were judged on clarity of the theme, creativity and originality, quality of composition and design and overall impression. Congratulations to all art students who participated in the Upper Delaware 30th anniversary art contest. A panel of judges has chosen the winners and their artwork will be published in a calendar. First place goes to senior, Hannah Garrison; second place prize goes out to junior, Alexa Vogel; and honorable mentions are awarded to senior, Heather McGinley; junior, Jess van Orden; junior, Ariana Wagner and junior, Sharyn Beodeker.
