Theater collaboration opens next weekend
Spoon River Anthology’ will replace Sorry, Wrong Number’ PORT JERVIS, N.Y. The Presby Players and the American Readers Theatre together will present Edgar Lee Masters’ “Spoon River Anthology” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday March 13 to 15 at Marsh Hall, 60 Sussex Street, in Port Jervis. “Spoon River Anthology” is a great American classic that describes the life of a fictional small town. It is a collection of beautiful short and free-form poetry that speaks to the heart of the audience. This production will replace the previously announced performance of “Sorry, Wrong Number.” Keeping with the tradition of Don Marsh and the Presby Players producing theatrical classics; the director and founder of the American Readers Theatre - Jeffrey Stocker will bring Spoon River Anthology to life on the stage of Marsh Hall. This will be the first offering from a collaboration of the two tri-state area theater groups. The cast includes Presby Players veterans: Helene Phillips, Alda Pendell, Linda O’Donnell, Kate DiGerolamo, Dionna Eshleman, Joan Harvey; in collaboration with American Readers Theatre: Priscilla Krum, Regina Richter, Jean Polatnick and Ruth Randone. The entire run of the production will be dedicated to the memory of Priscilla Fenstermacher who was a lifetime member of both the A.R.T. and the Presby Players. Performances on Friday and Saturday are at 7:30 p.m.; a matinee performance Sunday is at 3 p.m. Seats are $10. For reserved seating call 845-856-1231 x12. Tickets will also be available at the door.
