WESTFALL — Get ready for a high-spirited musical that will have all of the tri-state area doing the Charleston: the DVHS Drama Club will present Thoroughly Modern Millie on April 30, May 1, and May 2 in the DVHS auditorium. Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. Friday April 30 and Saturday May 1, and at 2 p.m. Sunday May 2. The three performances will also feature the Speakeasy Cafe, where theater-goers can enjoy delicious homemade refreshments. The cafe will be open for one hour before and after each performance, and during intermission. Come early to see the student Art Show presented by the DVHS Art Department. The zany 1920’s musical takes place during the era of jazz, speakeasies and moonshine. Midwestern girl Millie Dillmount makes her way to New York City in search of love and a “modern marriage”. The show is filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men, and a dragon-lady of a villainess that audiences will love to hate. “Millie” won six Tony awards, including Best Musical of 2002, and is based on the 1967 movie featuring Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students/senior citizens, and are on sale now. All seats are reserved, and early reservations are strongly suggested. You may order your tickets online at www.dvdramaonline.org, or by calling 570 296-1850, ext. 7373.
