Tricky Trays are united in purpose
Pike County This is a weekend for winning great raffles, beautiful baskets and raising money for a great cause with double the fun and twice the opportunity to help a community in need. On Apr. 18, the United Way of Pike County Tricky Tray event will be held at Delaware Valley Middle School in Westfall. On Apr. 19, the Caleb Regenski Memorial Foundation Tricky Tray event will be held at Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Restaurant in Hawley. The CJR Memorial Foundation was started in loving memory of a little boy who brought so much love and joy to everyone he met. Caleb Regenski was a happy, healthy two-year-old until a malignant brain tumor ended his life in February of 2007. “The goal of the foundation is to support parents during a child’s illness in any way, whether it be covering a rent or mortgage payment, electric or medical bill, or even groceries for the week. No parent should ever have to prioritize a payment or job before care of their sick child,” said Joe Regenski, Caleb’s father. “It is the mission of the United Way to offer hope and help build futures by mobilizing the community efforts in Pike County to ensure the well-being of our families. We encourage organizations like the CJR Foundation making a difference where they recognize it is needed most. ” said Tom Regenski, UWPC VP, and Caleb’s Uncle. Through the generous donations of its community, each year the United Way supports local human service agencies alleviating homelessness, sickness, hunger and abuse right here in Pike County. On Apr. 18, doors will open at 2 p.m. and calling starts at 4 p.m. for the United Way of Pike County event at the Delaware Valley Middle School. The CJR Foundation event at Ehrhardts Waterfront in Hawley, is from noon to 2 p.m. with drawings at 3 p.m. Success for both tricky tray fundraisers makes for a healthier community so bring your friends and family and let’s Live United.
