STROUDSBURG — On Wednesday, Nov. 12, the Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited will devote its entire general membership meeting to “An Introduction to Fly-Tying.” It will be held at the Monroe County Environmental Education Center on Running Valley Road in Bartonsville beginning at 7:30 p.m. The local TU chapter will have a number of superb professional and amateur fly-tiers on hand conducting demonstrations with various vises and fly-tuning tools; thus, a beginning tier will be able to observe and try a variety of vises and tools to make a more informed decision about the purchase of his or her equipment. Bring your friends to this all-important educational meeting, or anyone else who might want to learn how to tie flies. Attendance at this session is free and open to the general public, and it will certainly help them develop their Christmas Wish Lists; plus, they’ll also have a well-stocked tying kit for the start of TU’s upcoming winter “Beginner’s Fly Tying Course”. It will be three-week in duration and will also be spearheaded by Gerry Bortz this coming January.
