“War of the Worlds” Reading on Halloween Eve

    MILFORD n Professional actors will re-create the 1938 radio broadcast of H.G. Wells’ “War of the Worlds” at a special Halloween Eve program at Grey Towers National Historic Site, Milford, PA. The American Reader’s Theatre Company, based in Milford and New York City, will use the original script from the Oct. 30, 1938, broadcast, when Orson Welles terrified the nation with his infamous radio broadcast of the fictional invasion of Earth by aliens. There are two seatings for the dramatic readings: 6 pm and 8 pm. Tickets are $10 per person and are now on sale at Grey Towers, 570-296-9630, or by sending a check (before Oct. 21) made out to US Forest Service, PO Box 188, Milford, PA, 18337 Please indicate which seating you prefer. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The “War of the Worlds” program is a special production of the US Forest Service, Arts and Conservation program.
