Young entrepreneurs hold business fair
Milford. One-day outdoor marketplace to feature children 6 to 16.
A fair for children 6 to 16 to launch businesses, sell their goods or services and gain real-world entrepreneurial experiences will be held On Saturday, June 8, from noon to 3 p.m. in the Pike County Licensing rear lot on West Harford Avenue.
The children will learn, customer service, and product presentation. From handmade crafts and baked goods to original artwork and creative services, every booth will be run by youth from acoress Pike County. Students from the Delaware Valley School District, Ascend Academy Milford, and local homeschool communities will participate.
Past fairs have drawn large crowds of supportive community members, eager to shop, encourage, and be inspired by the creativity and dedication of local children. “This event is all about empowering kids to think big, take initiative, and learn by doing,” said Alyssa Verdi, founder of Ascend Academy Milford. “It’s a celebration of creativity, courage, and community.”
Admission is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to come out and support these inspiring young entrepreneurs while enjoying a fun, family-friendly afternoon. Businesses include: Handmade jewelry, candles, crochet, and terrariums, original art, 3D prints, woodwork, baked goods, snacks and beverages, beauty products, books, pet treats, live plants, and balloon animals, will all be on display and for sale.
Each child vendor has been preparing in advance, attended a business planning workshop, and built their brand from the ground up. All proceeds from their booths go directly to the young business owners.
The fair is sponsored by Ascend Academy, a private school for children ages 4 and up.
