Pike's Peek

Only one reader remembered Remembrance Park, and that's Pike County Commissioner Matt Osterberg.
He correctly notes that last week's Pike's Peek clue can be found "on the corner of West Ann and Elderberry Alley. This piece of land was once the Dimmick family burial grounds. Long abandoned and its stones removed, in the 1990s, it was sold for a house to be built on it. When construction began, the graves were uncovered and the plot of land was deeded to the Boro of Milford. Since that time, The Milford Garden Club named it Remembrance Park- a Community Garden. The Boro possesses some of the original headstones."
Wonderful background, as usual, from the commissioner. Remembrance Place was also featured in the Courier's recent coverage of the Milford Garden Club's Secret Garden tour. It's worth checking out whenever you need an extra dose of beauty and serenity.
