Area students college academic honors

Jennifer Smetana, of Milford, was awarded the Jenkins-Colis Gilroy Medal for Excellence in Undergraduate Social Work at Marywood University’s 2009 commencement ceremony. Smetana, received her Bachelor of Social Work degree. In addition to her academic excellence, she was a member of the Alpha Delta Mu National Social Work Honor Society and the Caritas Club. Delaware Valley College Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty Dr. Dorothy Prisco announced that Richard Casmus, of Milford, has been honored for academic achievement by being named to the spring 2009 Dean’s List. Delaware Valley College is a four-year school in Doylestown, offering more than 40 programs of study on both undergraduate and graduate levels to about 1,600 students. Regina Faye Finelli of Milford was named to the dean’s list at Clarion University for the second semester of the 2008-09 academic year. She is a Speech Pathology major. Dean’s list students must have earned a 3.5 quality point average or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
