Bank gives Day of Caring volunteers the shirts on their backs
MILFORD Every year it is easy to spot the United Way Day of Caring volunteers. They are the ones wearing the special tee shirts. This year, the United Way is thrilled that the Dime Bank has pledged to purchase these shirts for the almost 500 volunteers who will be out and about Sept. 20. United Way Board President Christine Obser said, “this generous gift of the Dime Bank keeps the spirit of the day, all volunteer with no cost incurred, alive and well. United Way is grateful that all the volunteers will receive this shirt as a token of appreciation for their time and effort! The Dime Bank continues to be so supportive of the mission of the United Way!” “It is always a thrill to see all the volunteers with the Day of Caring tee shirts out and about the community helping out,” said Sue Robbins, Day of Caring Co-Chair and UWPC Board Member. Frank Redington, Vice President of Commercial Lending for the Dime Bank and a United Way Board Member, notes how pleased he is that “the Dime Bank shows such care for its community.” The 8th Annual Day of Caring and 6th annual Red Cross Blood Drive is on September 20th. It’s not too late to offer your help!
