Corbett to speak at the Democrats annual dinner
Dingmans Ferry Delaware Township Tax Collector, Mary Lou Corbett will be the guest speaker for the Delaware Township Democratic Club annual Dinner to be held on Sunday, June 7. “We are honored that Mary Lou has agreed to present this year’s key-note address,” said Max Brinson, the club’s current chairperson, “The theme of this year’s dinner is volunteerism and Mary Lou Corbett is the volunteer of Pike County. Our neighbors will be able to attend and meet Mary Lou if they haven’t already since she is respected as Delaware Township’s Tax Collector as well as a well known ALS paramedic.” The highlight of the evening will be the acknowledgement of Delaware Township’s volunteers. “President Obama has set the agenda for volunteerism,” said Cheryl Glenn, the club’s past chair. “What better way to honor our volunteers than to have a dinner where they are the focal point.” There will be door prizes and a raffle with proceeds to directly benefit the committee’s scholarship fund. The featured prize of the evening will be the raffling of a Basket of Cheer donated by members of the Delaware Township Democratic Club. The dinner will be held on June 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Delaware Township Municipal Building, 116 Wilson Hill Road, Dingmans Ferry. The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for children.
