Dr. Elizabeth S. Hartey

    Dr. Elizabeth S. Hartey, a longtime resident of Milford, Pa., passed away at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville, N.J. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. She was 68 years old.

    She was a devoted mother, wife, nona, and sister. A gifted author, artist and chiropractor.

    Elizabeth lived for her family and loved spending time with her kids and grandson. She enjoyed caring for her family, swimming in her pool, watching classic movies, singing, and writing novels. She sang in off-Broadway shows and has written and published four romance novels over the past five years. Elizabeth was always most proud of her four children and will be greatly missed.

    The daughter of the late Nicholas and Lena Spano, she was born on February 7, 1954 in Newburgh, N.Y. Elizabeth was married to Edward J. Hartey on Aug. 13, 1983.

    Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Dr. Edward J. Hartey; four children Taylor Hartey, Elyse Hartey, Jordan Hartey and Spencer Hartey; adoring grandson, Sawyer; sister Anne Lee Lander; and brother Nick Spano.

    A celebration of her life was held at Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 25. A Mass was held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic church on Saturday, February 26, followed by burial at Milford Cemetery in Milford, Pa.
