Lauretta Woodson Awards were presented at the May meeting of the Delaware Valley School Board to employees Sharon Siegel, center, and Judy Fitzpatrck, seated right. Sandra Lefort, left, president of the Pike County Chapter of Pennsylvania Association of School Employees did the honors. Dr. Woodson was a Pa. educator who taught high school English and went on to become an English Professor at Temple University. After retirement, she belonged to PASR and worked on many committees to help the cause of educators and retirees alike. The awards are given for excellence in education. Judy Fitzpatrick teaches 3rd or 4th grade and was honored for her innovative teaching techniques and creation of the 4F Recycling Club. Siegel, holding daughter Emma, runs DVE TV, helps produce the monthly Smile-o-Gram, the Memory Book at DV Elementary, and provides many of the school photos seen in the newspapers, among numerous other projects for the school. Both were nominated by former DV Elementary Principal, Sonya Cole.
